Enter– the first installment of our Top 5 Skyrim Mods of the Week series! We’ll be showcasing 5 fantastic mods either from the Nexus mod community or the Steam Workshop community every week! What better way to kick off the weekend with a few high-quality mods!
Water and Terrain Enhancement — This mod takes the water of Skyrim and adds realism to it. This includes oceans, lakes, rivers and ponds. Water feels awkward due to the weird way it flows and the fact that it looks like goo. This mod makes water look more realistic by adding high resolution textures. It also makes water look more aesthetically pleasing and albeit only a minor amount, it adds immersion to the game. To quote Dead Man Playing, the creator of this mod, “water no longer looks like goo.”
True Skyrim — Skyrim, has a beautiful landscape, albeit some places are arguably rather dull and boring. Thankfully, there are mods out there to pretty up the dull areas, one of which is True Skyrim, a must-have for anyone looking to enhance the aesthetics of Skyrim and immerse their gameplay experience. Keep in mind that this mod is incompatible with the Open Cities and Detailed Outskirts mods due to conflict issues.
Nazgul Set — Fans of the Lord of the Rings series will specifically like this mod (and perhaps the next). The Nazgul set will allow your character to look like a Nazgul from Lord of the Rings. The armor set wasn’t that over the top in terms of balance either. If you are looking to add a little Lord of the Rings to your Skyrim, this is a mod worth looking into.
Hobbit Hole — The Hobbit Hole mod is essentially another home to choose from in Skyrim. As you can probably guess, the Hobbit Hole is based off of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The creator of this mod, Jamie, put together various assets from the Skyrim files in hopes of creating the Hobbit Hole. After a little of my own inspecting, it was very well made. While the Hobbit Hole may not be fit for tall folk, it is a very high-quality mod!
Unfortunately we only have 4 mods to showcase this week, but we’ll be reverting to the usual 5 in next week’s mod showcase!
