Dead Space 3 will purportedly be a direct port from its console sisters. News of this comes from games.on.net. They spoke with Visceral Games, developer of the critically acclaimed Dead Space series, at a recent Dead Space 3 event where the developer revealed that the game would be a straight port from console variants.

This should come as no surprised considering the first game, Dead Space, was a mere console port. Dead Space 2 was not even going to be released on the PC if it were not for its die hard PC fans’ cries.

What does this mean for Dead Space 3?

The game will be no different from Dead Space, which suffered from a mouse-acceleration bug, or Dead Space 2. The PC version of the game will have some graphics options. However, it will not have support for DirextX 11. In short, it won’t have any graphical difference from the game seen on the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360.

This is disappointing and not so disappointing news. The part that is not so disappointing is that this was to be expected. After all, the same thing happened with Dead Space 3′s two predecessors. What is disappointing is that, after playing the demo, this game has a lot of potential. It still has a lot of potential.

There is no doubt it will be an outstanding game. Hearing that Visceral Games (Electronic Arts, rather) won’t be putting effort into the PC port is very disappointing though. Not only that, but it could potentially be bad on the PC’s sales. Everyone love’s seeing advanced graphical technology. Console quality graphics have gotten old very quickly.

Dead Space 3 will release on February 8th. It will be available for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

Will you be picking up Dead Space 3 after this news? It will still be a great game. Not as great as everyone was predicting though. Extra effort into a PC port more often than not advances the appeal of the game.

Sony Online Entertainment, in an attempt to resolve any future issues in credit card fraud, has introduced PayPal as a new form of payment. This will allow users add funds to their PSN Wallet using PayPal. The company has more than once had issues with credit cards getting stolen, with the most notable theft an attack from the infamous hacker group Anonymous.

Users who want to unlink their credit cards from their PSN account can now purchase money for their PSN Wallet by using PayPal.

PSNStores, not having any affiliation with Sony, sent out a tweet earlier notifying customers that this feature is now available in the United States. Previously, only European countries had access to this. This is all great news considering that many of Sony’s PSN customers aren’t very trustworthy of how secure the service is.

How to add funds to your PSN Wallet via a PayPal account

The first step is to head over to this link and sign into your PlayStation Network account. After completing that step, simply click Add Funds to Wallet and after that, Add Funds to Wallet again. You should now be able to select PayPal as a form of payment. After filling out the Funding Amount, you will be redirected to PayPal where you will have to log in. After you log in, you will be prompted to select “Pay Now.”

After following those steps, the funds should be in your PSN Wallet momentarily!

CD Projekt RED released their first full trailer for its upcoming sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 yesterday, and boy, is it outstanding!

CD Projekt RED left a hidden message inside the trailer letting us all know that a big announcement would be taking place on February 5th. There’s no doubt this announcement will be the next installment in the extremely popular Witcher series. The message also reveals that we’ll more than likely see Cyberpunk 2077 in 2015, or even later perhaps. If Cyberpunk 2077 will see a 2015 release date, we’re more than likely looking at a 2014 release date for the Witcher 3, or we could be surprised with a release date announcement set for this year after CD Projekt RED’s announcement on February 5th.

I’m psyched for Cyberpunk 2077 now. Hopefully we’ll get a bit more information on the game soon. For now though, a YouTube description will have to do:

The Psycho Squad specializes in combating “psychos” — individuals who overuse implants and substances that boost or otherwise alter the human body.

There comes a point when they overdose on these innovations, and their bodies start to rebel against their biological body parts as well as all things organic around them. Simply put, they start killing people, who they now derisively call “meatbags.”

When a psycho goes on the rampage, strange things can happen. There’s carnage, and the psycho might be taken down by regular police, but they’re not always able to get the job done.

When things spin out of control, they call in MAX-TAC (Maximum Force Tactical Division), popularly called the Psycho Squad.

Just last month a trailer for the upcoming movie Pacific Rim was released for the public to witness. The two and a half minute video wasted little time to show its colossal alien monsters, but shortly after, gaming geeks noticed something which excited them greatly. That “something” in particular being the voice of Portal’s very own GLaDOS going through a start-up sequence for one of the film’s giant robots. Well according to this interview on torontosun.com, the movie’s director, Guillermo del Toro, was in collaboration with Valve to setup this very cool cameo.

As exciting as this is, however, the voice will apparently sound slightly different in the actual movie as explained by del Toro in these couple of quotes from the interview:

“Look, there’s no A.I. I’d rather have than GlaDOS, but McLain’s voice in the movie, due in theaters July 12, has been modulated a bit to be less similar to the distinctive tone of Portal’s unforgettable antagonist.”

“The filter we’re using is slightly less GLaDOS. Slightly. The one in the trailer I wanted to be full-on GlaDOS.”

To be totally honest, the movie itself doesn’t look very interesting to me, but I really am a sucker for little nods to geek culture such as this.

Our first week was a bit of a rocky start, but we are back with the “god” edition of our top 5 Skyrim mods for this week! If you want to have a heroic background like the many gods in Skyrim do, now might be the time to exercise your godlike powers on the mortals! Don’t abuse those powers though, you want a heroic story written in your name, not a horror story! Albeit, who says it isn’t fun to “abuse” your godlike powers once in a while, eh?

Amulet of the Gods – The Amulet of the Gods is a must have mod for those who are looking to exercise their godlike powers. This mod increases all of the players attributes by 100 — health, magicka and stamina. Additionally, the Amulet of the Gods enables the player to breath under water and will remove the cooldown from the players shouts.

Fists of the Gods – Fists of the Gods adds two hand-to-hand weapons to Skyrim that gives no visual appearance. The Fists of the Gods give off the illusion that you are punching an npc. The two weapons have outstanding damage and knockback stats which essentially make you a god among men in Skyrim. The Fists of the Gods will truly help you demonstrate your powers. Gods Goody Chest – Ever wanted to know what a gods goody chest looked like inside? Well now you can! The Gods Goody Chest mod adds two new daedric godlike weapons to the game: a dagger and bow. While this mod does not add a whole lot of features to the game, the weapons sure are deadly and are a perfect tool to torture demonstrate your powers on the mortals! Besides, the two added weapons look amazing in terms aesthetics!

Arrows Of The Gods – Arrows of the Gods is a very simple mod that adds four new craftable arrows to Skyrim. These arrows are somewhat balanced, as they aren’t one shot one kill arrows. That by no means mean they don’t pack a punch though! Additionally, the developer of this mod, n1x4, has added some outstanding textures, sounds, effects and explosions to the arrows. You can watch an in-game demonstration of this outstanding mod here.

Hammer of the Gods — If you aren’t looking to punish the mortals and just want force behind a weapon for demonstration purposes, Hammer of the Gods is a mod that you aren’t going to want to miss. All this mod does is allows you to knock people around instead of murdering them outright.

CDProjekt RED, developers of the extremely successful Witcher series, will be releasing a trailer for their next game, Cyberpunk 2077, next week. News of this comes from a tweet posted by a PR Tom Ohle who works for CDProjekt RED. Thankfully NeoGAF forum goer Ciastek3214 managed to grab a few snapshots of the tweets before they were deleted:

He later tweeted to one of his followers that the trailer would be released next week”ish”.

The trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely sounding epic, and I am now itching to see what it’s all about!

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 got a new release date, developer City Interactive announced today.

Eurogamer Poland originally found the statement confirming this newly updated release date. Further research shows that City Interactive’s website has been updated to reflect this new release date for Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 as well.

Hopefully this new release date is set in stone, as we’ve already had to deal with numerous delays.

Even though BioWare most recently put Star Wars: The Old Republic on the free-to-play bandwagon, that does not mean that content updates have come to a halt  The Old Republic will soon have new operations, flashpoints, difficulty modes, player-versus-player designed areas, and most notably same sex romance. If the game wasn’t already bad enough, they are going to allegedly spice things up with same sex romance. Considering BioWare has done this in the majority of their games, this is no surprise, but still disgusting as it ever was. This was all announced via a blog post written by executive producer Jeff Hickman.

Jeff Hickman on the topic of same sex romance in The Old Republic: ”I realize that we promised SGR to you guys and that many of you believed that this would be with a companion character. Unfortunately, this will take a lot more work than we realized at the time and it (like some other pieces of content we talked about earlier in the year) has been delayed as we focused on the changes required to take the game Free-to-Play. As we have said in the past, allowing same gender romance is something we are very supportive of.”

In all honesty, the addition of same sex marriage will more than likely make the game worse than it already is. Besides, how does this benefit the game in any way?

Video games these days are expensive. Not only that, but often consumers do not know if they will be receving a game that is worth their money. In example, no one knew that Darksiders II would be plagued with bugs that stops the player from progressing in the game. It’s been months now and there still hasn’t been a fix for numerous issues. In fact, every DLC that releases seems to add more and more bugs. What a waste of $50, right?

If buyers are patient enough to wait to purchase a game a week after its release, they could end up saving themselves nearly 50% on a digital copy of a video game. “How would one go about doing that?”, you may ask. It’s quite simple actually. From the day a game releases, keep your eyes locked on e-Bay. It is extremely easy to find digital versions of a video game for at least 50% off. In example, a week after the Riders of Rohan expansion launched for Lord of the Rings Online, I was able to get the Legendary Edition for $30 as opposed to the 70- or $80 they were originally asking for. Huge savings right there!

When Darksiders II originally launched, it was only two weeks before I saw the digital version of the game for a mere $25. That’s $25 less than the original pricing!

As a more recent example, heading on over to e-Bay and searching “Far Cry 3 pc” will reveal a physical copy of Far Cry 3 brand new for $32 + shipping. I won’t even mention that there are numerous CD keys for the game ranging from $35 – $45 in that same search.

That is just one of three way to easily save yourself some of that hard-earned cash.

Another extremely easy way to save money is to download an extension for your browser known as “Coupons at Checkout.” This extension will do all the legwork for you by finding the best possible coupons (that aren’t expired) for your order. Granted, you may not have as much luck as the above option with e-Bay, but it’s definitely another option to consider. There could be some coupons available that you managed to miss somewhere! You can download the extension here. Having a program finding all the coupons for your order should be the real definition of extreme couponing!

The last option is to simply do some general searching. Often Green Man Gaming‘s prices will be highly competitive with Steam’s prices. Other times you may find that Amazon has the best deals available as well. The best part is that both Amazon and GMG offer Steam keys, so no matter where you purchase the game, you’ll be able to throw it on Steam.

Photos displayed in a post on charlieintel.com depicting promotional posters on a Gamestop shelf reveals Revolution, the first alleged DLC for Black Ops 2. According to the photo, there are apparently 4 new multiplayer maps labeled Hydro, Grind, Downhill and Mirage. A bit of extra zombie mayhem is hinted at as well with Die Rise.

Additionally, a new gun labeled the Peacekeeper SMG is shown (this tidbit in particular is giving me an overwhelming sense of “meh,” but whatever).

According to the source, there is another image which shows that Revolution should be initially available for Xbox Live on January 29th. The launch date for other platforms in unknown.

We should be getting some kind of official announcement soon if these posters are legitimate.
