Square Enix-owned Crystal Dynamics, the creators of the upcoming Tomb Raider game, have confirmed the game to include multiplayer mode(s).
Eidos Montreal, the guys behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the alleged upcoming Thief 4 game, are creating the multiplayer for Tomb Raider.
And don’t worry folks! Community Manager Meagan Marie made sure to clarify on the Eidos forums that singleplayer was not being sacrificed for multiplayer functionality:
Tomb Raider will include a multiplayer offering thanks to the hard work of our sister-studio, the hugely talented Eidos Montreal. The team at Eidos Montreal has been working away at the multiplayer while we focused everything on the single-player offering.
In addition, Megan Marie adds that, “we’ll have lots of information coming out of CES in early January.” At the time being, little is known about Tomb Raider’s multiplayer aside from it sounding like it’s just going to be a rehash of other games’ multiplayer.
CES isn’t that far out from now, so we won’t have to wait too long before hearing more information!
